We are very proud to offer an academy program at MASC. The program is designed for those players aiming for a more competitive soccer experience at the U8 - U10 age groups and acts as a bridge between our rec and select programs.

At the U8-U10 age groups our coaches aim to develop skill, individual decision-making, and teamwork. We do this by creating game-like experiences in practices and facilitating player learning. We believe that promoting age-appropriate cognitive, technical and psychological development will lead to a life-long love of soccer and an easier step up to the select program.

U8 Academy Rules: 4v4 with no goalkeeper

Field Size: 25-35 x 15-25 yards

Goal Size: 4’ x 6’ 

Ball Size: 3

Time: 2 x 25 halves with a 10 minute interval

U9-U10 Academy Rules: 7v7 with a Goalkeeper

Field Size: 55-65 yd x 35-45 yd

Goal Size: 6.5’ x 12’

Ball Size: 4

Time: 2 x 25 halves with a 10 minute interval

The Academy Program fees for the 2025-2026 season are $400 and includes:

• Home and away Adidas jersey, shorts and socks

• Aug-Oct - 2 training sessions a week, league games, 1 tournament

• Oct - March - 2 indoor sessions, training

• April-June - 2 training sessions a week, league games, 1 tournament

Does my son/daughter have to tryout?

No they do not. There is no tryout process for these age groups as with the select program. However, prior to the season starting there will be a player evaluation process to ensure each player is matched with an appropriate team.

What does a season look like?

There will be outdoor practices and games in the Fall (August through November) and Spring (March through June). Academy will also be offering indoor practice over the Winter. Tournaments are decided on by each individual team for the season.
